A thank you
Here’s a bit of a belated gratitude post in honor of Thanksgiving. This year has been particularly rough for so many, and I know that I’ve found it more difficult than usual to be thankful for the positive things when they seem so outweighed by the negative. So I figured Thanksgiving is as good of an excuse as any to express my gratitude.
I’m thankful for:
family
friends (and video calls!)
my cat, Sweetie
the health of myself and those I love
the right to vote
graduating in May (that’s like six months ago already, what is time??)
the college professor that’s still mentoring me even though I graduated in May
getting my first editorial project (networking, it really works)
this website and blog
books and their magical ability to transport you to other (arguably better) worlds
and last, but certainly not least: writing, which has helped me through many a dark time and without which I would probably be certifiably insane already
There are probably dozens of other things I’m thankful for (good pens, music, space heaters) but I’d be here forever if I tried to list them all. So to those someones and somethings I’ve left out—I’m grateful for you too.
In conclusion, thank you. Thank you to the people and privileges and particulars that make my life better and happier for their being in it.
With gratitude,
KNB
